American Peptides review: what its certificates show and what they do not

Comparisons · 5 min read · Published

Disclosure: Peptide Trace is an affiliate partner of American Peptides and earns a commission when you buy through the link at the end of this page. Its products are sold for laboratory research only, not for human or veterinary use.

American Peptides sells research peptides from Shreveport, Louisiana, and it publishes more paperwork than two of the other three vendors we review. We went through its whole catalog, its certificate library and four certificates in full. This page sets out what those documents show and where we ran out of evidence. The score on our review page comes from the same three checks we apply to every vendor.

What American Peptides sells

It lists 82 products, 76 of them research items and 6 of them merchandise . The table groups them the way the vendor does.

Product pages listed in the vendor's sitemap, read 8 Oct 2026. Prices and stock change. The full list with sizes is on our American Peptides product list.

The site opens with a researcher access screen. It asks visitors to confirm they are 21 or older and buying for laboratory research, and it offers 20% off a first order once you do .

What its certificate library holds

The library covers 51 products, with 74 current certificates, 47 older ones marked superseded and 43 safety data sheets . Keeping replaced certificates posted lets a reader see the lot history.

The library does not cover everything. Dihexa and melanotan-2 have a safety data sheet and no certificate. Twelve other non-bundle listings have no library entry at all: cagrilintide, eight of the ten liquid sprays, two of the three dissolving strips and the reconstitution solution.

What the four certificates we read say

They name a lab, a lot, a method and a result for every line. We read the retatrutide 10 mg, tirzepatide 10 mg, BPC-157 5 mg and IGF-1 LR3 1 mg certificates . All four name the lab as Bioviridian and were issued on 17 August 2026 for samples received on 11 August.

Swipe the table sideways to see every column.

From the vendor's published certificates, read 8 Oct 2026. Identity is confirmed by LC-MS/MS on all four, and content by HPLC quantitation.

IGF-1 LR3 1 mgIGF1-080399.55%1.12 mg

Each certificate also prints a chromatogram, a web verification code, an endotoxin result and a heavy-metals result. Purity runs from 99.55% to 99.83%, so the figures vary by product, which is what separate runs look like. Our guide on spotting a fake COA treats one figure repeated across a catalog as the warning sign.

Three details we could not explain

Measured content sits above the label on all four. The 10 mg retatrutide vial read 10.61 mg (6.1% over), the tirzepatide 10.18 mg (1.8%), the BPC-157 5.33 mg (6.6%) and the IGF-1 LR3 1.12 mg (12%). Vendors often fill a little over, and the page does not say why, so we treat it as an observation about four lots.

The endotoxin line (under 0.05 EU/mL) and the heavy-metals line (under 0.01 ppm) are the same on all four products. Identical figures can be a reporting limit, and a certificate cannot tell you which. None of the four shows a sterility result, although the vendor's quality standard page lists sterility testing among its seven layers.

Which lot ships is the open question

We found nothing on the site that ties a certificate to the vial you receive. The certificates name lots such as RETA10-0803, and the vial photo on the retatrutide certificate carries a different label number, QC265079. On the IGF-1 LR3 certificate, the field that should name the vendor reads "IGF-1 LR3". Our line-by-line COA walkthrough covers how to match a lot number, and the guide to reading a certificate explains each field.

Each certificate points to a verification page on the lab's site. Our request to it was refused by the server, so we have not checked any verification code with Bioviridian.

How we scored it

American Peptides scores 5 of 6, second of the four vendors we review. It passes on outside lab and on stated method, and gets a partial on batch match because we could not tell which lot a customer receives. Peptryn scores 6 and Core Power Peptides 4, and we are a partner of Core Power Peptides too. The comparison shows every check, and the rules are on our methodology page.

American Peptides pays partners 10% to start, rising to 35% with monthly sales, with a 30-day cookie . The commission does not change the score.

Frequently asked questions

Does American Peptides publish certificates of analysis?

Yes. Its library holds 74 current certificates for 51 products, naming the lab, lot and methods. We could not confirm which lot a given order receives, and we have not checked any report with the lab.

Who tests American Peptides products?

The four certificates we read name Bioviridian. We have not contacted the lab or confirmed it issued them, because its verification page refused our request.

Does American Peptides have a discount code?

Our partner code is PEPTIDE101116, and we have not confirmed what it takes off. The site also offers 20% off a first order after a researcher access confirmation, as of 8 October 2026.

Vendor details are the vendors' own statements, read on the dates given. We have not tested any product. This post is educational and is not medical advice. Research peptides are sold for laboratory research only.
