Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analogue that Novo Nordisk is developing for weight management. Vendor pages often describe it with results from CagriSema, the combination of cagrilintide and semaglutide, and the two get blurred. We read the published trials, the company's FDA filing announcement, two FDA compounding pages and the cagrilintide listings at the four vendors we review. What cagrilintide is
The 2021 phase 2 paper calls it a long-acting amylin analogue and says natural amylin is a pancreatic hormone that induces satiety. Peptryn and American Peptides both list a molecular weight of about 4,409 Da and the CAS number 1415456-99-3 for their cagrilintide vials . An identity test on a certificate should land near that mass.
What the trials measured
Four sources report human weight outcomes for cagrilintide, alone or in the combination. We left out every dose.

No trial in the table tested a vial from a research vendor, so none says what a vendor's powder contains. The participants followed trial protocols, which a vendor listing does not replicate.
Where cagrilintide stands with regulators
Novo Nordisk announced a New Drug Application for CagriSema on 18 December 2025 and said the drug is not approved in the US or EU . We found no decision in the sources we searched as of 12 October 2026. We also searched the text of two FDA pages on bulk drug substances for compounding (content current 14 May 2026 and 22 April 2026) for "cagrilintide" and "amylin" and found neither word. That absence is not an approval, and this site gives no legal advice.
Cagrilintide vs tirzepatide, and cagrilintide with retatrutide
Cagrilintide acts on amylin receptors. Tirzepatide acts on GIP and GLP-1 receptors, and retatrutide on those two plus the glucagon receptor, as we set out in retatrutide vs tirzepatide and our guide to dual and triple agonists. In the 60 newest PubMed results for cagrilintide we saw no randomized trial of cagrilintide alone against tirzepatide. The comparisons we saw were network meta-analyses, which compare separate trials indirectly.
The one study we found that pairs cagrilintide with retatrutide is a September 2026 Nature Metabolism paper in diet-induced obese male rats. Its authors report greater reductions in body weight and food intake with the pair than with either compound alone, and they describe the work as preclinical. In the first 20 of 22 PubMed results for both names, the rat paper was the only primary study, and we found no human trial of the pair. American Peptides lists a retatrutide and cagrilintide blend .

The 10mg vial costs $17.00 per milligram at American Peptides and $22.00 at Core Power Peptides and Peptides for Sale. Those last two vendors list identical prices and identical markdowns for both sizes, and we could not confirm why. None of the four listings links a cagrilintide certificate, so every statement in the last column is a claim.
What to ask a vendor before ordering cagrilintide
A certificate for cagrilintide should name the lab, the lot, the method and the result, and the lot should match your vial. Our guides on reading a COA line by line and spotting a fake COA cover each field. Four requests matter for this compound.
- The lot report for the exact size, with the lot number you will receive.
- The name of the testing lab, and a way to check the report with it.
- An identity result from mass spectrometry, near the 4,409 Da that Peptryn and American Peptides list.
- A purity method (HPLC) and a content figure, so purity and quantity do not get confused.
Frequently asked questions
Is cagrilintide approved by the FDA?
We found no approval for cagrilintide alone. Novo Nordisk filed an application for CagriSema, the combination with semaglutide, in December 2025 and said it was not approved in the US or EU. We found no decision as of 12 October 2026. Check the FDA's own database for the current status.
Have trials tested cagrilintide on its own?
Yes. A 2021 phase 2 trial assigned 706 adults to cagrilintide groups and measured weight at 26 weeks. REDEFINE 1 included a cagrilintide-only group, and a 2026 meta-analysis pooled four trials. Novo Nordisk funded the trials, and none tested a vial from a research vendor.
What do vendors show about cagrilintide testing?
None of the four vendors we review links a cagrilintide certificate on its listing. Peptryn says its certificate is not in its library yet. American Peptides and Peptides for Sale say one is available, and Core Power Peptides says on request. Ask for the lot report first.
